Nirf Rankings and Strategic Parameters: A Study of Nirf India Rankings 2023 Parameters for the Overall Domain

Abstract

National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was created by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD), Government of India. This research article is framed to analyze the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings 2023 and the criteria adopted for the overall domain rankings. To frame the analysis NIRF ranking 2023 with five focal parameters and 18 sub components as per the requirement under the main five parameters are considered. For the completion of this study the data and facts were taken from NIRF ranking report 2023 issued by Ministry of Education, Government of India. Simple percentages, graphical presentations & pie charts are formed to show the results effectively. For more specific results top ten and lower ten ranking institutes are considered to know highest and lowest contributing components in their total score for ranking. It has been seen during the study that old institutions are getting more benefits in these ranking parameters. This research article suggests that some more parameters such as employees feedback and satisfaction working in higher education institutions, other than academic part as sports activities, cultural activities and social welfare activities by the institutions, focus of institutions on environment protection, involvement of technology in routine working, success of the students in various competitive exams, etc should be used to frame more insightful results.
