Abstract

Supporting technology is essential to assist students to do self-study as well as improve the quality of teaching method among tahfiz teachers. The development of technology in the form of digitalization such as educational application can be accessed easily anytime and anywhere by the students. However, tahfiz teachers are still using traditional methods in their teaching process resulting in boredom and lack of student concentration in class. This also affects the students’ achievement level of al-Quran memorization. In this study, the researcher aims to develop a holistic and comprehensive mobile application named “HiQMA” that is designed exclusively for tahfiz students and teachers to assist students in learning tahfiz al-Quran. This study is a development study within ADDIE model that provides a structured framework for designing and developing effective instructional materials or learning interventions that have four phases including evaluation phase. The evaluation phase includes user feedback and learning outcomes that involves 40 respondents on the subject of tahfiz al-Quran from Faculty of Quranic and Sunnah Studies in Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. The feedback shows that the process of HiQMA application which contains four features i.e. Quran recitation, video call, video recording, and class record are able to assist students in learning tahfiz al-Quran.
