Same-Sex Marriage: Imposition of Decision vs. Need of Society

Abstract

After four years of Article 377 being revoked, the same-sex couples still do not have legal permission to marry. In a very recent verdict, Supreme Court denies to make separate laws or amend the existing marriage laws. The court stated that there is no fundamental right to marry. But with time, discrimination of LGBTQ+ people keep on increasing. This paper aims to describe the need of legal recognition of same-sex marriage ensuring the LGBTQ+ rights.
