Abstract

This research aims to identify the existing conditions and sources of pollution in the Pannampu Channel, identify waste water management in the Pannampu Channel in terms of WSUD elements and develop a strategy for implementing the Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) based waste water management concept. The analytical methods used are qualitative descriptive analysis, spatial analysis and overlay analysis. The results of this research show that the Pannampu Channel is currently polluted by community activities around the channel in the form of household, trade and industrial activities. When viewed based on the five WSUD components, wastewater management in the Pannampu Channel is far from sustainable, characterized by the absence of filtration, the absence of water reuse, and the lack of water catchment areas around the channel. The strategy for implementing the WSUD concept in managing Pannampu Channel waste water is in the form of road alignment, water flow management, use of permeable materials, and rainwater harvesting along the Pannampu Channel. With this strategy, it is hoped that there will be an improvement in the environmental quality of Makassar City
