Abstract

Social media is evolving at a very fast pace, and it is becoming very difficult to protect our children from this cutting-edge technology. 73% of Indian children are using cell phones, and easily get addicted to the internet and gaming every year, according to a survey. In 2017, India's growth rate for smartphone users was over 129%, surpassing China's growth rate of 109%. The number of smartphone users in India is expected to surpass one billion by 2025. The number of smartphone users in India is expected to reach 1.55 billion by 2040. By 2027, the global smartphone user base is expected to reach about 7.7 billion. Numerous cities within our country have recently established internet addiction treatment facilities. Children can benefit from and endure harm by social media and technology. Understanding the benefits as well as the drawbacks of technology and the media is essential for making the most of them.
