The Structural Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Beams Containing Zeolite Made of Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) Fibre
Main Article Content
Abstract
The results of a research study have been made to evaluate the material characteristics of concrete beams containing Zeolite(Z) and Polyvinyl alcohol fibre (PVA). A total of ten beams were cast and tested for this study. The beams were 150mm x 250mm x 3000mm were evaluated for their flexural capacity in a standard testing frame. The beam specimens were tested for their behaviour under static loading conditions. Two beams were cast in each designation and averages were taken. The performances of the beam specimens were assessed in terms of first crack load, deflection at first crack load, yield load, deflection at yield load, ultimate load, deflection at ultimate load Cracking history, and failure modes. It is evident from the test results that the inclusion of PVA fibres significantly enhanced the performance of concrete beams at a certain stage.
