Abstract

Purpose: The medical tourism industry has come up as a boom in the medical industry around the globe. Most of the countries are now trying to flourish themselves as one of the countries to attract medical tourist and get benefited from the services. The purpose of this research is to examine the pull factors that attract medical tourist perceive as lifetime values from the healthcare services in medical destination. 


Design/ Methodology/ Approach: PLS-SEM model method was used to analyze the pull factors of medical destination towards medical tourists. Data was gathered from the survey conducted by 300 respondents, in which 250 respondents were qualified and validated.


Findings of the study: The study's findings show that hospital treatment quality, services, emotional and social behaviour are the most important dimensions influencing medical visitors' preferences. Furthermore, medical expenses and health-care efficiency have a substantial association with medical tourists' pull factor. The study also revealed that medical tourists' contentment was strongly linked to the quality of medical treatment they got and service benefits they receive in hospitals.


Practical Implications: The findings have significant implications for healthcare system. Hospital connectivity is an important component to consider when assessing user satisfaction. To achieve patient satisfaction, healthcare providers must remain cognizant, that all parts of hospital facilities are critical and must be performed properly.


Originality Value: This study contributes to the existing literature on medical tourism by defining and describing the importance of medical tourists and hospitals. In terms of prospective tactics and medical tourism expansion, the findings of this article are extremely informative for the growth of medical tourists. The study lays the groundwork for future medical tourism research in the fast growing sector.
