The Effectiveness of Active Learning Models in the Context of Islamic Religious Education: A Meta-Analysis of Correlation
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to conduct a meta-analysis of the effectiveness of active learning models in the context of Islamic religious education. Meta-analysis is conducted to combine the results of empirical research that has been conducted previously and analyze the extent to which active learning models contribute to the achievement of Islamic religious education goals. This type of research is a quantitative meta-analysis. The variable of this research is the Active Learning Model in the Context of Islamic Religious Education. Data sources were obtained from various research results in Indonesia since 2002. Nineteen samples of research publications were taken from online databases (Google Scholar and national and international journals) according to predetermined eligibility criteria. Data analysis used a meta-analysis approach. The results showed that there was a negative and significant correlation between the effectiveness of active learning models in the context of Islamic religious education and the weighted effect size value within the specified confidence interval. The small sampling error causes the effect size weight to be in the medium category. This research makes an important contribution to the general understanding of the effectiveness of active learning models in the context of Islamic religious education. The implications of these findings can help teachers and policymakers to consider the application of active learning models as an effective strategy in improving the quality of Islamic religious education.
