Acceptance, Application & Augmentation (3A’s) of Virtual Laboratories in Engineering College from the Perspective of Faculty and Students

Abstract

Aim behind this paper is to identify need & effectiveness of virtual laboratory in e-learning mode. Study emphasizes on viewpoints of Engineering college faculties & students with respect to 3 A’s of Virtual Lab.It involved survey of responses collected from 482 students & 171 faculties which helped to identify whether faculties are comfortable in designing and delivering experiments with Virtual lab& students are comfortable in performing experiments with Virtual lab or not. The survey analysis highlights strengths and limitations of virtual lab in detail. In future a blended mode of laboratory where students are trained on virtual lab first and then exposed to real experiments to reduce error and accidents is advocated.
