Abstract

Stress is currently one of the recurring pathologies in the population that is generated by contexts such as school or work pressure. The objective of the research was to determine the effectiveness of the psycho pedagogical program to over come physical, emotional and academic stress to increase academic performance and emotional state in students of the VII Cycle of the regular basic level. The study was carried out in the And a huayl as province, Apurímac region, Peru. The methodology was cross-sectional explanatory with a sample of 95 students of the 5th grade of secondary education. As study indicators were physical and emotional stress and academic stress. The data collection techniques were observation, interview and survey, before and after the application of the program. Data was analyzed using SPSS. In the results, a high academic stress was found before the application of the program due to the academic overload. The implementation of the Psychopedagogical program significantly decreased physical, emotional and academic stress in students with an improvement in academic performance. In conclusion, the implementation of psych pedagogical programs should be implemented as strategies to reduce stress in students.
